The Ninth National AFPS Conference, AFPS'15, took place at the IFSTTAR (the French Institute of Science and Technology for Transport, Development and Networks) in Marne-La-Vallée, from November 30th, 2015 to December 2nd, 2015. This french-speaking conference is held every four years and is the opportunity to take a look at the latest improvements in the earthquake engineering field and the seismic risk field.

The conference is open to all. Its aim is to provide an opportunity for the various actors involved in the seismic risk domain - public authorities, civil protection authorities, insurers, academics, architects, engineers...-to discuss different topics. The discussions cover a wide range of topics, from the evolution of seismic faults to the solutions provided through constructions and by society in general (psycho-social and economic aspects).

The title of the 2015 conference is "Anticipating, limiting and managing the consequences of earthquakes in territories", and broadens the range of topics raised during previous conferences, insisting on anticipation and management of risks and their territorial level.

In the past few years, France and its European partners have seen major improvements, in the field of application of technical rules as well as in the content of these rules (new seismic zoning, Eurocodes). This conference will be an excellent opportunity for earthquake engineering actors to take stock of studies and research, but also of the practical aspects of the new legal frameworks.

The final organization plan of the conference will partly depend on the contributions offered. One of the objectives is to enable discussions between authors and participants, insisting on new questions.
